Not much work, but progress

Okay not really in the planning stage, but it's the small stuff that gets you. I've been trying to clean up Desperate Measures, what I once referred to as my Feiral Future WIP and I realized that there were a couple of things I needed to make sure of before I delved any deeper into it. So I went back to the first place the Feiral have appeared. The Zarain world and specifically Primal Quest. I looked at my worldbuilding notebook, but although there was some of the detail I needed, the specifics weren't there and I had to go back and reread to make sure that I didn't contradict myself about them.

I had a good weekend although I didn't get as much work done as I planned. Just general procrastination and the missing information added into that, but I didn't mind at all. Now I'm relaxed and I don't consider the time wasted. I had a few breakthroughs on a couple of my WIP. Tonight, I've been trying to discover why my blogs not importing to facebook like I'd set it up. I finally remembered that I might need to change some settings to get it to come through again. I hope what I've done allows it to get through again.

It is necessary to write, if the days are not to slip emptily by. How else, indeed, to clap the net over the butterfly of the moment? For the moment passes, it is forgotten; the mood is gone; life itself is gone. That is where the writer scores over his fellows: he catches the changes of his mind on the hop. ~Vita Sackville-West

Overactive muses

My muses, subconscious, whatever you want to call the creative part that forms the characters and situations in my stories, is on overdrive this weekend. Now, I'm not griping about that. I love it when my muses are cooperative. What I'd love is if they'd decide to work on what I'm working on not give me new stuff when I already have more than enough stories in the works.

I've been cleaning Desperate Measures so that I can finally submit it and that's going slower than it should. I've also been working hard on my Santir Ancient's WIP although that story is going to be long. I've added about 4000 words in the last week, and managed to get a little work on a couple of others.

Now, I mentioned my muses above for a reason. I've been working on two WIP set in the world of my Protectorate books, but these two are barely related to the others. I admit that has been concerning me, but the stories were too good to put aside because of that. Now, I don't know how I'll present them in relation to the Protective Affairs series, but I'll deal with that later. I knew there were stories still to tell in the PA series that were related, but there was something missing, some connection to the next step that I hadn't found. Well, my muses handed me the hero, the heroine, a hell of a conflict between them, and a fairly good idea of how to move the series ahead. Problem is: I can't work on it right now even though I want to dig right into it.

I'll just have to use it as incentive to get to work and finish something.
